Types of Braces

We use many different types of “appliances” -- braces or other devices -- to move or stabilize teeth and jaws. Sometimes we employ devices designed to modify and correct problems with facial growth, as well.

Dentofacial Orthopedics is the clinical science of directing growth and development of the upper and lower jaws to create a more perfect face and profile for your child. When diagnosed early, dentofacial orthopedic patients avoid the need for extraction of permanent teeth, complicated maxillofacial surgery, and achieve striking and beautiful results.

Various types of comfortable and compact appliances are used in this staged treatment. Patients wear a customized device inside the mouth for six to twelve months, dramatically impacting their entire facial structure and profile.
